This Panama hat was hand woven by skilled natives in Ecuador and it was carefully completed in Italy. Made from the fibers of the Toquilla Palm plant native to Ecuador. The hat gained international fame during the construction of the Panama Canal in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
After the weaving process is complete, the Panama hat undergoes a journey to Italy, where it is meticulously finished and adorned with additional details to enhance its aesthetic appeal and quality. Italian artisans bring their expertise in design and craftsmanship to add the final touches that elevate the hat to a luxurious accessory.
A Panama hat made in Ecuador and completed in Italy combines the best of both worlds – the rich heritage of Ecuadorian craftsmanship and the timeless elegance of Italian design.
The misnomer "Panama hat" stuck, and the hats gained widespread recognition and popularity internationally. They became fashionable accessories, favored by celebrities, politicians, and travelers alike. Today, the Panama hat remains an iconic symbol of timeless style and craftsmanship.
Please note that the color of the hat may appear differently on various screens and devices due to differences in display settings and lighting conditions. Additionally, the color names were decided by the manufacturer and may not always perfectly match the visual perception.
Product size: Inside of hat's circumference approximately M 22 1/2'', L 23'', XL 24''. The measurement is from the inside of the hat. In order to determine your proper hat size, you must take a measurement of your head. Using a flexible tape measure, measure your head about one-half inch above your eyebrows where your hat will rest. Be certain that the tape measure is straight, not twisted.
If you don't have a flexible measuring tape on hand, you can still accurately measure your head circumference using a non-stretchy string, ribbon, or strip of paper along with a ruler. Position the string or ribbon around your head, ensuring it sits about 1 inch above your eyebrows and ears at the same level where a hat would typically rest. Hold the string firmly where it meets around your head, then lay it flat against a ruler to measure the length in inches or centimeters. Repeat this process a couple of times to ensure consistency, and take the average of the measurements for the final head circumference. Recording this measurement will help you select the right hat size with confidence.
